The Melbourne Private Hospital Infusion Services Department offers a calm and relaxing environment for patients to undertake their intravenous infusions. And our team of oncology and haematology nurses provide patients with exceptional care and attention.
Our dedicated facility with four chairs and six beds offers a range of intravenous infusions such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusion, iron infusions and other treatments.
Many of our medical oncologists and radiation oncologists have consulting rooms onsite. There is an onsite pharmacy to help monitor your treatment and answer any questions you may have.

Other support services
As part of your private patient treatment we also offer access to a breast care nurse, stomal therapy nurse, dietitian, and palliative care. And an inpatient physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
We can help you access off-site counsellors and social workers and connect you with Cancer Council Victoria.
The Infusion Services Department on Level 1 is open Monday to Friday.
Open access iron infusion
Melbourne Private Hospital offers an iron infusion service. GP referral needed.
Cost of iron infusion
There is a private fee incurred for the infusion which is payable on the day of admission. Fees are subject to change and our staff will discuss fees with you when booking your iron infusion.

- Approximately one hour
Before you arrive
- Due to COVID-19 please contact us beforehand to see if you can bring someone with you
- We recommend that you don’t bring young children with you if you are their carer
- We will contact you to arrange a time that suits for your first treatment. If we haven’t contacted you within 48 hours of receiving your GP referral, please call us on 03 8341 3430
- You don’t need to prepare in any special way for your iron infusion

How to refer
General practitioners can submit a referral to our Day Infusion Unit on fax 03 8341 3431 and we’ll call your patient to offer them the next available appointment. We’ll contact our local physicians who will review the patient and provide a script.
